Every Look from Max Mara Resort 2024 – CR Fashion Book

Creative director Ian Griffiths was inspired by the Midsommar folk festival that celebrates the gift of summer; one of the festival’s most charming traditions–collecting seven types of wildflowers, or Septem Flores–prompted the collection’s vast array of Midsommar meadow colors.

The collection’s tailored silhouettes of the 1900s combined with modern iterations of gigot sleeves, ankle grazing skirts, elbow length capes, and smart blouses create a classic yet modern juxtaposition.  Blouses and dresses ranged in types of necklines, including off-the-shoulder silhouettes, sharp collars, and undone ties dangling around the neck. The industry’s trend of big bags can be seen in the Maison’s various large totes and other leather goods. Billowing tunics, braids, pom poms, tassels, and studs echo folk motifs at the heart of the Scandinavian legend. Dominated by timeless neutrals with the final looks capturing a floral print, Models floated down the runway with flower crowns that completed the Midsommar look.
